Oh, don't get me anything...
Christmas, birthdays - how often have you heard that response from your Mom/Dad/Significant Other/Grandparents? Or maybe you've said it?
It's a blessing to live in such an affluent culture, but we all like to show our affection for people important to us by giving special, personal gifts. Sometimes it seems like our loved ones really do have everything, and what can we possibly get them? Now, I know I'm slightly biased, but really, how many gift options are as individual and personal as family and pet portraits? Portraits really do freeze a moment in time, reminding us of our blessings today, and becoming such important family heirlooms for the future.
Then and now...
One of my favorite portraits of my kids, Carl and Gracie, is from 2002 (thank you, Tim Olson!). He was 8, and she was 4. Gracie has always adored her brother, and this photo reminds me of the relationship they had when they were little. I remember thinking back then, "Will they always be this sweet to each other? Even when they're teenagers?" Carl is now 20 and Gracie 16, and I am very grateful to say they are still just as kind to each other. Yes, Carl teases Gracie when I try to take a portrait, but really, they are so supportive of each other. I'm so glad to have portraits that illustrate not only how my children have changed over the years, but also how they've stayed the same.
We have Gift Certificates that come nicely packaged, ready to give. And remember, a donation will be made to Rancho de los Animales for the Disabled for all Portrait Sessions scheduled or Gift Certificates purchased between now and December 31.
